Gathering Email Addresses
As most of you are discovering the power and potential of email marketing, we thought we would pass along this idea.  A quick and easy way to gather customer emails is to have a little notebook (or notebooks) strategically placed throughout your business.  A little sign attached stating why you are collecting emails – “to share updates, coupons and specials with our customers” – placed next to the notebook will help encourage customers to sign-up.   Then a few times a week all you need to do is update your database.  The great thing about this method is you will gather email addresses from people who may not purchase something that first time in your business, but are interested in hearing from you again.

Online Promotions
Last month we talked about how adding a “schedule online” link to your website helps to increase the number of hits to your website and your online exposure.  Well our second favorite feature of online scheduling is the ability to suggestively sell products and services to your customers while they are in the mood to purchase.

Suggestive selling has been proven over and over again to be an excellent way to “up-sell” your current customers.  The pop-up promotions feature, built right into the online scheduling, is an excellent way to do just that.  We have had several customers add online scheduling just to capitalize on this opportunity.

Think about it… your customer is already in the mood to schedule a haircut or massage, book a training session or class, or sign-up for a personal shopping experience and now you have the opportunity to up-sell with a product special or package of services.
